The musical masterpiece returns, direct from Broadway! 

Cabaret's original production opened on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre in 1966. The first run of Cabaret transferred from New York to London's Imperial Theatre and then back to Broadway Theatre before closing in 1969, after 1,165 performances and 21 previews. 

The production's impeccable music was composed by John Kander with lyrics from Fred Ebb. The musical is based on the book by Joe Masteroff and John Van Druten's 1951 play, I Am a Camera, which was adapted from the short novel Goodbye to Berlin (1939) by Christopher Isherwood.

Based on Roundabout Theatre Company’s Tony Award®-winning production by Sam Mendes (Skyfall, American Beauty) and Rob Marshall (Into the Woods and Chicago, the films), the third and freshest revival of Cabaret debuts at Walton Arts Center in January 2018!

Set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, it focuses on the nightlife at the infamous Kit Kat Klub, and revolves around young American writer Cliff Bradshaw and his relationship with 32-year-old English cabaret performer Sally Bowles.

Latest Cabaret revival brings exciting changes... 

• "Telephone Song" was cut and replaced by "Mein Herr."
• The character Bobby replaced one of the ladies in "Two Ladies."
• "Tomorrow Belongs to Me" was changed from a group number by the waiters in the cabaret to a gramophone recording of a boy tenor singing the song with the leading player speaking the last words.
• "Maybe This Time", a song from the film, was added to this revival.
• "Money", another song from the film, was blended with "Sitting Pretty" for this revival.
• "Meeskite" and "Married (Reprise)" were cut from the revival.
• "I Don't Care Much" was added.

Every production of Cabaret has modified the original score, with songs being changed, cut or added from the film version.
