Business Casual, 2019 VoiceJam Festival Champions, enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Vocal Asia in Japan this month.

Each of the five band members - Jacob, Michael, Cassie, Roshun & Leslie - shared their favorite moments from Vocal Asia on our blog.

Vocal Asia Highlights:

• JACOB - Singing a funk song with workshop attendees. The Swingles concert. Hanging out with EXIT on Aca Day.

• MICHAEL - Songs for the Islands and the New World Concert - wow! Going to Teshima for Aca Day and seeing the ocean and lots of little islands. Enjoying the strength and diversity of competitors during Asian Cup competition. Connecting with and learning about all the different groups in attendance at Vocal Asia.

• CASSIE - The Swingles’ first workshop on the first morning - a huge room full of strangers coming together to learn and sing a beautiful arrangement together. Karaoke with Voctronica! followed by an impromptu and very loud a cappella rendition of “This Love” in the lobby of the Karaoke place, which made the staff really, really uncomfortable. The after-party when everybody danced along to Acapellago’s “Da Coconut Nut” in their encore encore performance!

• ROSHUN - Experiencing Taiwanese and Japanese folk music during the Songs for the Islands and New World concert. Karaoke with Voctronica!. Workshop with the Swingles - Singing without a Safety Net. Singing on Teshima and hanging out with EXIT from South Korea!

• LESLIE - Aca Day! Spending the day on the gorgeous island of Teshima, performing for a wonderful audience in a beautiful setting, and playing Korean circle games with EXIT. Also learning how to do killer photo poses from EXIT :)
