Walton Arts Center's 10x10 Arts Series is an intriguing and innovative showcase of performances, meticulously curated to satisfy the artistic curiosity of our Northwest Arkansas community. This collection of shows invites everyone to venture into uncharted artistic territories, to explore and try something new! The best part? All tickets are only $10.
10x10 Arts Series performances come to life with post-show creative conversations with the artists – allowing you to dive deeper into their work and background. Audience members are also encouraged to give their feedback about each performance via a hand-written Post-it® note. Notes are collected after the show and shared with the artists and the programming team.
Starting off strong the new year is Galvin Cello Quartet. With members from China, Brazil, South Korea and the U.S., this diverse ensemble presents works from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The tonal beauty, timbral contrast and astonishing virtuosity of the quartet demonstrates the unexpected, limitless range of a cello ensemble. Don’t miss this award-winning international sensation when they make their debut on the Walton Arts Center stage on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7 pm.
February brings the remarkable Ailey II dance company. This group is known worldwide for merging the spirit and energy of the country’s finest emerging dance talent with the passion and creative vision of Alvin Ailey. The company embodies Ailey’s mission of establishing a cultural community to provide dance performances, training and community programs for all people. Experience Ailey II on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 7 pm.
If you like to walk to the beat of your own drum, the next 10x10 performance is perfect for you. Drum Tao is celebrating three decades of Taiko drum performances for more than nine million fans in 26 countries worldwide. Powerful drums combine with the physicality of the performers and the beautiful melody of the Japanese shinobue (flute), koto (harp) and syamisen (guitar), creating a spectacle for your senses. Experience the beat of a new drum at this powerful performance on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 pm.
For all of the Pitch Perfect lovers out there, Take 6 is praised as “the baddest musical cats on the planet” by Quincy Jones. This a cappella sextet has collaborated across genres and toured the globe with their funky grooves that bubble into an intoxicating brew of gospel, jazz, R&B and pop. Don’t miss Take 6’s Northwest Arkansas debut as the 2024 VoiceJam A Cappella Festival Headliner on Friday, April 12 at 8 pm.
